This one is the first chosen to get..."Tha' treatment"! So excited:)
Check in on us to see her progress. Lighting isn't the best but you still get an idea of what I'm working on. I'll post better pics. tomorrow. I can hardly wait to paint and collage these pieces!
Last year I was inspired by the beautiful collages of Anne Bagley and purchased a couple of her DVD's to see her technique. I've created theses faces, and still working on more, utilizing the oil painting technique I learned in a class two weeks ago. I'm going to combine the techniques and see where they lead me!
Okay...I'm really done now. I will not add anything else to this..promise.
I'm playing around with this 'wet-on-wet' oil painting technique I was introduced to on Monday and Tuesday of this week. I had no idea you could get so much completed in such a short period of time using oils. I've used this technique with watercolors but had no idea of its possibilities with oils. Lovin' the practice and have a couple of pieces I want combine "Me" on with this new technique. Totally excited! Oh, and did I mention..no drawing? I have never painted anything without drawing it first...NEVER!
Who is this by the way? I and other county art teachers have had the opportunity to participate in a two-day workshop with Ms. Carla Sanchez. I'm excited about what I've learned and look forward to incorporating those techniques into my own work and also giving my kids a watered-down taste also! Everyone's work was phenomenal and she's an awesome instructor! She offers classes at the PFAA Courthouse Gallery. Call them at 770-445-9008 for more info. My, two-day painting!
