It's both bitter and sweet for me as fall is my favorite season. It was also hers. She was born in the fall. Seems like yesterday it was a time for celebrations, family gatherings, vibrantly colored leaves, cool breezes and good food. Now with October being breast cancer month, I'm reminded of how much fall has changed for me. Breast cancer has changed things... has changed my family...has changed me.
I do have hope, however, I must have hope. I hope that families will no longer be weakened by its nasty sting, hope that survivors will live long, happy lives and I hope/know that a cure will be found.
I know she wouldn't want us to be sad, after all, she's in a better place. She'd want us to celebrate, celebrate her life, celebrate the memories, celebrate the end of breast cancer that we know is sure to come and celebrate all who survive and whip cancer's butt!!!
So... for the full month of October 2014, I'm going to celebrate with my talent in remembrance of my sister, Chez Renee Chapman ( Nov. 5, 1962-Feb. 5, 2006).
Every week this month, I'm going to offer a free, handmade giveaway, at least, once weekly.
My sister was always supportive, blessed by and appreciative of my handmade gifts. To offer someone else that same blessing through my talent, is the least I can do.
"LIKE" my Pawzpoos Face book page and nominate someone to receive the 'gift of the week'. Check the Pawzpoos Face book page frequently for updates; there may be more than one giveaway weekly. The drawing will be held and my weekly winner/s will be announced every Saturday throughout the month of October by 1 p.m.
Who'd be a good candidate? Anyone whose life has been touched by cancer.
